zondle @ Cunningham Elementary School, Austin

In between pitching to investors, meeting publisher partners and generally meeting lots of great educators, zondle managed to find time to visit Cunningham Elementary School in Austin.

We were invited by Emily Smith and Darla Caughey who we met at a SXSWedu mixer and who are truly inspirational teachers.

Cunningham is a small school in the South of Austin that has a challenging demographic and the most wonderful kids and teachers.

@zondle arrived after lunch and, after a quick tour that took in the library, art department and a brilliant view of the timelines around the school we ended up in the Hive where Grade 5 were already logged in to zondle.

What greets you when you arrive in the Hive!

We began by creating some great questions to help other students around the world learn about as diverse subjects as Math, YouTube Stars and adaptation. It was great to see how the students really got into writing the questions setting them out in different ways.

Then the students put their topics into zondle (check them out by searching for Cunningham on zondle.com.

Then it was time for assembly and a magnificent celebration of the school, the students and the teachers.

Thanks Emily and Darla for arranging the trip for me and thanks too to Amy Lloyd (Principal) for letting me visit and for the t-shirt!

We LOVE Cunningham Elementary!
